Site Agent - Highways - Freelance

Operating both in the UK and across the world, they are a leading contractor delivering projects across multiple sectors including; real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.
Your new role
Working on the largest highways project in the region involving a new 10 mile dual carriageway, we are looking for a Site Agent to join the project team.
As Site Agent you will lead the delivery of a defined area of works, ensuring everything is planned, programmed, and executed with a “right first time” approach.This is a pivotal role where you’ll be responsible for the strategic and operational management of your section, driving quality, safety, and performance while ensuring timely handover of completed assets.
Key Duties:
- Lead the planning and delivery of construction works within your section.
- Champion health, safety, and wellbeing across your team and supply chain.
- Support and develop your engineering team, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, designers, and client representatives.
- Review and approve Temporary Works Design Briefs and ensure compliance.
- Manage and update whole-life programmes, ensuring resource alignment and continuity.
- Oversee supply chain programmes and payment applications.
- Ensure works are delivered to the latest design specifications and contract scope.
- Maintain accurate quality records
- Uphold environmental standards and drive sustainable practices.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in delivering major highways schemes.
Strong communication skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Solid understanding of engineering principles, construction methodologies, and temporary works.
Experience with construction contracts
Proficient in digital tools (MS Office 365, document control systems).
SMSTS, First Aid & CSCS
