Tier 1 cilis contractor is looking for a site agent in the Central belt of Scotland with water experience.
Site Agent – Water Infrastructure
Location: Central Belt, Scotland
Sector: Civil Engineering / Water & Utilities
Employment Type: Permanent (or Contract – amend as needed)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to deliver a range of civil engineering projects within the water and wastewater sector across the Central Belt of Scotland. This is a key operational role responsible for overseeing site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This position is ideally suited to candidates with a strong track record in water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment works, and associated civil works.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations across multiple water infrastructure projects
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and contractual requirements
- Lead and coordinate site teams including engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Promote and enforce a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on site
- Develop and review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
- Monitor progress and report on performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications
- Liaise with project managers, designers, clients’ representatives, and key stakeholders
- Manage site documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, and records
- Assist in procurement and commercial control, including cost tracking and variations
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Site Agent or Senior Engineer role within civil engineering
- Demonstrable experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects (essential)
- Strong understanding of construction processes, particularly within utilities environments
- Knowledge of NEC contracts (or similar forms)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively
Qualifications & Certifications
- Degree / HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – essential
- CSCS card (appropriate level)
- First Aid at Work (desirable)
- Water hygiene / DOMS / EUSR tickets (advantageous)

- High level of attention to detail and quality focus
- Commercial awareness and cost control understanding
