I am working with one of the largest independent providers of utility infrastructure services in the south of the UK. This company plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing essential services such as gas, water, telecoms, and energy.

Your new role

We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a strong and growing team working on high-security civils projects, from a base in Norfolk. The role involves one main location. However, travel to support the rest of the group may be necessary as required.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and teams on safety, health, environmental, and quality issues, including the development and implementation of site-specific policies and procedures
  • Managing and ensuring that all permitting and inspections are completed and hold the relevant information (permit controller)
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions to address root causes and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Coordinate training programs to raise awareness of safety, health, environmental, and quality standards and ensure that team members are adequately trained to perform their duties safely.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to safety, health, environmental, and quality performance, and identify areas for improvement

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified in IOSH or NEBOSH (or working towards)
  • Qualified in SMSTS (Units 1-3)
  • Utility/Construction Site Experience
  • Good Knowledge of CDM 2015
  • Experience in writing/reviewing Risk Assessments, Method Statements & Reports
  • Experience in investigating incidents
  • Have good oral communication skills
