SHEQ Advisor - South Down Based Contractor

Your new company

Your new company is a Newry based contractor specialising in a range of disciplines from demolition, dismantling and site clearance to asbestos removal. With an operational history of nearly 60 years, the company have been at the centre of demolition within cities and towns across NI & ROI, from residential to high-rise structures & major industrial facilities. Due to continuous market growth & recent contract awards, the company are now seeking a professional SHEQ Officer to join their specialist team.

Your new role

As SHEQ Officer, you will beresponsible for supporting the SHEQ Manager in all aspects of health and safety across the Group.

You will be tasked with reviewing and developing the SHEQ system in line with ISO 45001, 14001 & 9001, creating and completing risk assessments & method statements alongside conducting site audits and inspections on a weekly basis. You will lead and deliver health & safety initiative with the support of a strong team to support the delivery of the HSEQ strategy for the company. Your time will be spent primarily at HQ in Newry, with site visits required once or twice a week across NI / ROI.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be considered successful for the role, you will have previous experience working in a similar role within a construction environment. You’ll demonstrate a working knowledge of SHEQ standards & audit procedures with a sound understanding of implementing integrated ISOs (14001, 45001 & 9001) throughout a live project. You must be professionally qualified to NEBOSH level or hold a relevant BSc Degree.
