Your new company

Our client is a Social Housing provider looking for a compassionate and proactive Sheltered Housing Manager to join our team and play a vital role in supporting older residents to live independently in safe, vibrant communities.

Your new role

As a Later Living Development Manager, you’ll be based within one of their dedicated Later Living schemes, delivering an enhanced housing management service that promotes wellbeing and community spirit. You’ll be the go-to person for tenancy-related support, offering advice and resolving resident enquiries with professionalism and care.
Your new role
  • Act as the main point of contact for residents and prospective tenants, offering advice and signposting to support services.
  • Welcome new tenants, ensuring they understand available services and tenancy responsibilities.
  • Support residents with rent obligations, working with income teams to promote financial wellbeing.
  • Conduct pre- and post-tenancy property inspections, reporting and ensuring completion of necessary works.
  • Carry out regular building checks to maintain safety and report defects promptly.
  • Address maintenance queries, complaints, and issues related to anti-social behaviour.
  • Maintain accurate records using internal systems to ensure effective communication.
  • Collaborate with external partners to enhance resident wellbeing and access to services.
  • Promote health and safety, including fire safety and damp prevention, and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance standards, including supervision of cleaning staff.
  • Engage residents in service consultations and support community activities to reduce isolation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • PVG
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • CIH Level 2 qualification or relevant level of work experience

  • Have experience of a similar role/environment in your current or previous jobs or can demonstrate that your skills, personal qualities and experience equip you to take on the role.

  • Have a good understanding of the vulnerabilities and challenges faced by older people
  • ICT proficiency, including skills in the use of Microsoft packages including Office 365 Teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills: communicating clearly and effectively and able to navigate sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy. Able to demonstrate empathy and respect whilst also having the confidence to manage communications appropriately
