Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong background in construction? Hays Health & Safety are working with a well-established contractor in the Preston area who is seeking a proactive and confident Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running and is passionate about maintaining and promoting a positive safety culture across multiple construction sites. You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, conducting site inspections, and supporting operational teams with best practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with H&S regulations
  • Provide advice and guidance to site teams on all aspects of health and safety
  • Assist in the development and implementation of risk assessments and method statements
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations
  • Support the delivery of toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety performance

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry
  • Valid CSCS card
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and site safety practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites

£35,000 is on offer for the right candidate with the opportunity for funded professional development.
