SHE Advisor / Manager - Co. Tyrone Based Construction Contractor

Hays Construction is working alongside an established contractor, with over 30 years of expertise in delivering diverse construction projects across Northern Ireland. Our client is now seeking a SHE Manager/Advisor to join their Co. Tyrone based team on long-term, multi-site projects, all based locally in Northern Ireland.
Your new role
As an SHE Manager/Advisor you will play a key role in shaping and driving the strategic development of the SHE department. You will help maintain and continuously improve the company's excellent health and safety, environmental and sustainability records by:
- Ensure companywide compliance with all relevant SHE legislation and standards across company sites
- Provide SHE advice, support, and guidance to staff
- Act as the key point of contact for all SHE matters
- Lead the management and maintenance of SHE systems to ISO 45001 and 14001 standards, in line with Construction industry specific requirements
- Identify, organise and where required, deliver SHE training
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting, analysis and corrective action
- Develop and oversee all SHE project plans including Construction Phase Plans and RAMS
- Maintain accurate SHE documentation and records
- Stay informed on relevant legislative and regulatory changes
- Conduct and monitor site inspections and audits
- SHE reporting, analysis and compliance recommendations
- Promote continuous improvement in SHE performance
What you'll need to succeed
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years H&S/SHE experience within construction sector
- Experience in managing people
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations and relevant ISO standards
- Strong ICT skills including Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
- Full UK Driver’s Licence
- Experience in managing SHE/SHEQ department
