Settlements Manager, Peterborough, Hybrid Working

A leading financial services organisation in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Settlements Manager to join their operations team. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily settlement of trades, managing operational risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily trade settlements, manage failures, and proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Liaise with depositories, custodians, trading desks, and third-party vendors to resolve settlement and systems issues.
  • Ensure accurate trade data capture and settlement using industry tools (e.g., CTM, Alert, SIM).
  • Maintain and review operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance automation and client experience.
  • Support the operational setup of new funds and ensure effective middle office operations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, building strong partnerships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in settlements within a financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of DTCC/CTM systems and fund operations preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of investments, corporate governance, and risk mitigation.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
