Service Support Engineer – HVAC | Building Services

Are you a mechanically-minded engineer with a passion for HVAC systems and building services? Whether you're working for a consultancy, contractor, or supplier, this is a unique opportunity to join a well-established technical team in a role that blends design, estimation, and hands-on project support.

Your new company

A leading supplier of high-performance heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions, this company has been supporting commercial and residential projects across Ireland for over 40 years. Known for its technical expertise and premium European brands, the team provides full lifecycle support from design and specification to commissioning and maintenance.

Your new role

Based in Belfast Titanic Quarter, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting both designers and installers. You’ll be involved in technical sales support, estimation, and project delivery across NI and ROI. The company is investing heavily in its Belfast office, with plans to make it the technical hub of the business – offering real scope for progression into senior roles such as Head of Technical or Head of Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and specification of HVAC systems including MVHR, ductwork, pipework, chilled water, and heating/cooling solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, schedules, and tender documentation.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to support project delivery.
  • Attend site visits assisting with surveys, inspections, and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with energy efficiency and sustainability standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE, LEED, BREEAM).
  • Stay current with building regulations, HVAC technologies and best practices.
  • Provide after-sales technical support and assist with service queries.
  • Maintain organised records and report on project activities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong interest or foundational knowledge in HVAC and building services.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical HVAC components.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full clean driving licence (site visits and training required).
  • Willingness to travel for manufacturer training (Ireland, UK, Europe).
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own diary.
Desirable:
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or HVAC design software e.g. (Hevacomp, IES VE, HAP).
  • Previous experience or internships in HVAC, M&E, or building services.
  • Familiarity with decarbonisation strategies and energy-efficient design.

What you'll get in return

This is your chance to build a rewarding career in the growing HVAC sector, working with cutting-edge technologies and a highly experienced technical team. You’ll be joining a company that values innovation, invests in its people, and offers genuine career progression from hands-on support to leadership roles. If you're looking to diversify your experience, deepen your technical knowledge, or move into a more strategic role, this could be the change you've been waiting for.

  • Competitive salary (based on experience)
  • Bonus scheme
  • Employee product discounts
  • On-site parking
  • Flexible holidays and Christmas closure
  • Ongoing training and development, including manufacturer training
  • Clear progression path within a growing technical team
