Your new role

As an IT Support Technician, you’ll be the first point of contact for technical issues, providing responsive and effective support across a range of systems. You’ll manage incidents and service requests using ITSM tools, support users with Microsoft Windows and Office 365, and carry out tasks in Active Directory such as password resets and account unlocks. Your role will also involve troubleshooting network and remote access issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for staff across the organisation. This is a full-time, on-site position with potential flexibility to work from home one day per week.


What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

Education & Certifications
  • NVQ Level 3 in IT or equivalent experience
  • GCSEs including English and Maths
  • ITIL Foundation certification
Experience
  • Proven background in a service desk or IT support environment
  • Hands-on experience with ITSM tools
  • Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Windows and Office 365
  • Familiarity with Active Directory functions
Skills & Attributes
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of networking and remote access (VPN, DNS, etc.)
  • Ability to manage priorities and perform under pressure
  • A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and a strong commitment to confidentiality and NHS values
Desirable Extras
  • Experience in NHS or healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of NHS systems such as NHSmail, ESR, EMIS, or SystmOne
  • Awareness of cybersecurity and data protection principles
  • Familiarity with remote desktop and support tools
