6-month temporary contract for senior technical officer

I am working with a public sector organisation who are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Officer to deliver critical building safety and compliance projects. This role will focus on:

Asbestos removal projects
Fire escape re-design
Compartmentalisation works

You will provide technical advice and full project management services for a range of building and construction schemes, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and health & safety regulations.

Your new role

Manage planned and responsive building projects, including surveys, specifications, procurement, and supervision of works.
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, fire safety standards, and asbestos control requirements.
Oversee contractors and maintain strict budgetary and programme control.
Liaise with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders to deliver projects efficiently.

What you'll need to succeed

Proven experience in delivering fire safety works and asbestos removal projects.
Strong knowledge of building regulations, fire safety, asbestos regulations, and health & safety legislation.
Ability to produce plans and specifications; proficiency in AutoCAD desirable.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
