A well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy in Belfast is currently seeking a Structural Engineer. Operating across the UK and Ireland, the practice is known for its strong technical expertise and collaborative approach to delivering creative, efficient and practical design solutions. The consultancy works across a wide range of sectors including education, industrial, healthcare and residential, both directly for clients and as part of Design & Build teams.

Your new role

As an experienced Structural Engineer, you will join the Belfast office in a full-time, office-based role, with flexibility to work remotely when required. You will be involved in the delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to construction, undertaking design calculations, structural analysis and CAD work on a day-to-day basis.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Structural design and analysis across a variety of building types
  • Preparation of calculations, drawings, reports and specifications
  • Use of AutoCAD and Revit for 2D and 3D design work
  • Structural analysis using MasterSeries and Tedds
  • Design using steel, concrete, timber and masonry
  • Producing NBS specifications and structural reports
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and wider design teams
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
  • Managing projects, briefing and supervising technicians, and attending site and client meetings

What you'll need to succeed


  • Experience working within a structural engineering design consultancy in the UK or Ireland
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with MasterSeries and Tedds
  • Practical, buildable approach to structural design
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
  • A minimum 2:1 degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • CEng MIStructE status preferred, or a strong graduate actively working towards chartership
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
