Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of the full commercial function for a high-profile highways project. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage budgets, cost control, and subcontractor relationships while ensuring compliance with NEC contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing and managing project budgets with accurate cost reporting
- Procuring subcontract packages and compiling tender documentation
- Administering contracts and handling variations, delays, and claims
- Preparing monthly applications for payment and forecasting cash flow
- Leading commercial meetings and maintaining strong client relationships
This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly influence project success.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- Proven experience in senior commercial roles within highways or heavy civils
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost control processes
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and build client trust
Professional membership (MRICS/MCICES) and experience in delay analysis and claims preparation are highly desirable.
