Senior Quantity Surveyor – Permanent – Cardiff – Tier 1 Contractor – Welsh Water AMP8 Framework – Hybrid
Your new company
You will be joining a long-established and highly respected Tier 1 contractor operating within the water industry. This multi-accredited contractor delivers large-scale clean and waste water capital programmes directly for Welsh Water and offers a strong pipeline of AMP8 works as well as excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the water industry, and as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Cardiff office with hybrid working and occasional site visits.
Your new role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a lead commercial role across major water and wastewater capital projects, helping to maintain long‑term infrastructure resilience and environmental protection. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting estimators with tendering and estimating new projects
- Managing subcontractors, including procurement, drafting subcontracts, agreeing terms and conditions, and administering contracts through to final account
- Administering live projects, including weekly monitoring of direct and indirect costs and progress against the accepted programme
- Managing client applications, change control, WIP, cashflow and client final accounts using CEMAR
- Producing monthly reports covering value, cost to date, forecast final cost, progress, WIP, cash position, risks, margin improvement plans and value of change traded.
This is a dynamic role where you’ll manage multiple projects and contribute to the long-term resilience of essential water infrastructure.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will need:
- Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or experience
- Strong working knowledge of NEC form of contract
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Sound leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence.
