We are working with a well-established Public Sector organisation in the South West on a role that could be a strong next step for an experienced procurement professional.

Your new role

The next 12 months are packed with high‑value, high‑impact procurement projects, and this role plays a key part in delivering them. This position will suit someone who thinks strategically and commercially, rather than transactionally. You’ll lead complex, above threshold public procurement competitions, develop category strategies, and negotiate multi‑million‑pound contracts across both direct and indirect spend – all while ensuring compliance with PA23 / PCR15. You will be working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and you’ll bring modern commercial thinking into a team with strong public sector procurement foundations. The work has real purpose and delivers tangible benefits to communities across the South West.

What you'll need to succeed

• Leading compliant public procurement competitions under the Procurement Act 2023

• Developing category management strategies and framework agreements

• Negotiating and drafting robust commercial contracts

• Using spend, performance, and market data to shape evidence‑based decisions

• Building strong supplier and stakeholder relationships through effective contract management

• Embedding social value into procurement activity

• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues within the function
