Your new company

Our client is an Environmental Consultancy based in Leeds who were established in 2007. They offer a range of specialist environmental services to public and private sector organisations across the UK.

They are looking for someone to support them with their mission to improve sustainability in the UK. Supporting various clients to develop their sustainability credentials and to minimise their impact on the environment.

Your new role

The main responsibilities of this role include:


  • To develop and implement carbon accounting methodologies for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting in compliance with recognised standards.
  • Advise clients on decarbonisation strategies, net-zero pathways, and climate risk management.
  • Support clients in setting and achieving their sustainability goals.
  • Prepare sustainability reports alongside the correct frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and voluntary disclosure initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver impactful sustainability solutions.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions on carbon accounting and climate strategies.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in carbon accounting and sustainability.
  • Contribute to the development of new service offerings and thought leadership content.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience within the sustainability industry

  • Knowledge of environmental issues, but also technological solutions, and relevant environmental legislation, policy and guidance
  • Experience in the waste management sector (Ideal)

  • Proven track record of delivering complex carbon footprint assessments and reduction strategies

  • Excellent analytical, project management, and client-facing skills.

  • Project management skills to manage scope, budget and timescales
  • Experience conducting research, writing reports and making relevant recommendations.
  • The ability to build relationships with a range of people, such as project managers and contractors
