Your new company

Our client is an Environmental Consultancy based in Leeds who were established in 2007 who offer a range of specialist environmental services to public and private sector organisations across the UK.

They are looking for someone to support them with their mission to improve sustainability in the UK. Supporting various clients to develop their sustainability credentials and to minimise their impact on the environment.


Your new role

This role involves advising organisations on implementing, auditing, and improving ISO frameworks such as ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), and related standards. You will lead compliance projects, conduct audits, and provide strategic guidance to ensure sustainable and legally compliant operations.


The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Design, implement, and maintain ISO 14001 and other relevant management systems for clients.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to verify compliance with ISO standards and environmental regulations.
  • Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions to achieve certification and maintain compliance.
  • Advise clients on environmental legislation, permitting, and regulatory obligations.
  • Ensure alignment with local, national, and international compliance requirements.
  • Support client teams in building internal expertise for ongoing compliance management.
  • Monitor and evaluate environmental performance metrics.
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports and presentations for senior management.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related discipline.

  • A minimum of 5 years industry experience

  • Experience working within the waste management sector is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards, auditing techniques, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working with a wide range of clients including local authorities
