This is a well-established ecological consultancy operating across the UK, providing expert advice and practical solutions for a wide range of projects; from small-scale developments to major infrastructure schemes. The team combines deep ecological expertise with a commercially minded approach, helping clients navigate planning requirements and achieve sustainable outcomes.

They have offices in Devon, the North West and East Midlands.

Your new role


You’ll work from their Devon-based office, leading a small team of junior members of staff. Eventually, you’ll have input on recruitment to further grow the Devon Team. Some key responsibilities include…

  • Leading a diverse range of habitat and protected species surveys
  • Producing high-quality reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and management plans
  • Providing planning, mitigation, and licencing advice to clients
  • Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to team development
  • Working with purpose-led clients across sectors such as infrastructure, energy and residential
  • Driving innovation in biodiversity net gain, nature-based solutions, and ecological strategy


What you'll need to succeed


  • Proven confidence and experience in environmental consultancy
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, sometimes in remote locations
  • The ability to plan, manage and deliver ecological surveys / projects
  • Full UK driving licence and use of a car.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience preparing fee proposals.
  • Experience undertaking risk assessments.
  • Be able to manage and analyse data.
  • Experience using GIS Mapping (ideal)
  • Holder of a protected species licence (ideal)
