Senior Planner required for the Development Management team in a Central London Borough.

Your new company

You’ll be joining a busy and well-regarded North London borough with a strong pipeline of development coming through. There’s a great mix of work, from householder and minor applications through to some more interesting and complex schemes, so there is plenty of variety day to day.

Your new role

As a Senior Planner, you’ll be dealing with a caseload focused mainly on minor and householder applications, with the chance to get involved in some more complex proposals as well.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be assessing applications, working with applicants and agents, and helping make sure developments meet planning policy while getting delivered efficiently.
A bit more about what you’ll be doing:
• Handling a steady caseload of minor and householder applications
• Assessing proposals and making sound recommendations
• Working with applicants and agents to improve schemes where needed
• Writing clear, concise officer reports
• Giving advice to applicants, colleagues, and other stakeholders
• Playing your part in keeping the service running smoothly
• Supporting more junior team members where needed

What you'll need to succeed

To hit the ground running, you’ll ideally have:
• Experience working in development management within a London Borough
• Confidence dealing with minor and householder applications
• Some exposure to more complex schemes
• A solid understanding of planning policy
• An RTPI accredited qualification
• Good communication and report writing skills
• The ability to manage your own workload and stay organised

What you'll get in return

In return, you’ll get:
• A competitive hourly rate of £34ph to £38ph (depending on experience)
• Flexible hybrid working – with office presence required once a week
• A varied caseload to help build your experience
• A friendly, supportive team environment
