Renowned for innovation, high quality delivery and a collaborative culture, this contractor operates across highways, bridges, marine and environmental sectors. As part of continued growth, they are seeking a talented Senior Planner to strengthen their planning capabilities across major civils programmes.

Your new role

As Senior Planner, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major civil engineering projects, including significant highway works exceeding £200 million in value.
You will support the planning function across both live and tendered schemes, ensuring robust programme development, sequencing, monitoring and reporting. Working closely with project teams, commercial leads and clients, you will provide technical planning expertise from early design through to completion, using Primavera P6 as the primary software tool.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing, updating and maintaining detailed construction programmes for civils projects
  • Supporting tender submissions with programme methodology, durations and sequencing
  • Monitoring progress, identifying variances and preparing resequencing or recovery strategies
  • Collaborating with site teams, design teams and commercial leads to maintain programme alignment
  • Preparing planning reports, tracking key milestones and highlighting risks or delays
  • Contributing to claims, delay analysis and mitigating actions where required
  • Reviewing subcontractor programmes and ensuring alignment with project schedules

  • Experience working under NEC or similar standard forms of contract
  • A proactive, analytical approach with exceptional attention to detail

What you'll get in return

Based in Derry with travel as needed, you will receive an excellent market‑leading salary and benefits package, including travel/accommodation where required.
You will also benefit from:
  • The opportunity to work on high‑profile flagship infrastructure schemes
  • A supportive, collaborative working environment
