Senior Payroll Administrator, 12 month fixed term contract
My client is looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Administrator for a 12 month fixed-term contract.
As the Senior Payroll Administrator you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and work as part of a small , friendly payroll team where you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and accurate payroll operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing end-to-end processes, including starters and leavers
- Maintain accurate records of payroll data for multiple payrolls
- Review and verify timesheets
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments
- Submission of statutory returns to HMRC
- Processing statutory deductions
- Respond to employee payroll queries with professionalism and care
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment of employee data and benefits
- Support audits and compliance checks by preparing relevant documentation
- Third party records, i.e. AEO’s, pensions
- Other ad hoc payroll reports as required
- Train and mentor junior payroll staff as needed
- Liaise with other departments in a friendly and professional manner
Experience
- Experience of working in a similar role will be preferred
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with strict reporting deadlines
Qualifications and training
- GCSE Maths and English – Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
- A-Level Maths is desirable
- CIPP is desirable

- Analysis, numerical and report writing skills
- Strong communication, listening and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Demonstrates a high level of discretion and confidentiality

- Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
- Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems
