Senior Payroll Administrator, 12 month fixed term contract

My client is looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Administrator for a 12 month fixed-term contract.

As the Senior Payroll Administrator you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and work as part of a small , friendly payroll team where you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and accurate payroll operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing end-to-end processes, including starters and leavers
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll data for multiple payrolls
  • Review and verify timesheets
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments
  • Submission of statutory returns to HMRC
  • Processing statutory deductions
  • Respond to employee payroll queries with professionalism and care
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment of employee data and benefits
  • Support audits and compliance checks by preparing relevant documentation
  • Third party records, i.e. AEO’s, pensions
  • Other ad hoc payroll reports as required
  • Train and mentor junior payroll staff as needed
  • Liaise with other departments in a friendly and professional manner

Experience
  • Experience of working in a similar role will be preferred
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with strict reporting deadlines

Qualifications and training
  • GCSE Maths and English – Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
  • A-Level Maths is desirable
  • CIPP is desirable

  • Strong communication, listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
  • Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems
