We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to independently manage the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services for a diverse client portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident in end‑to‑end payroll processing, and is committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients.
  • Oversee Auto Enrolment duties and ensure full compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, providing a reliable and professional service.
  • Stay fully up to date with payroll legislation, best practice, and industry changes through independent research.
  • Work collaboratively within the payroll team and wider payroll function.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, HMRC, and external providers.
  • Identify and resolve payroll queries and customer service issues efficiently.
  • Carry out any additional tasks that are reasonable and relevant to the role.
Requirements

  • Previous payroll experience within an accountancy practice or bureau is ESSENTIAL.
  • Parking available
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, processing requirements, and Auto Enrolment rules.
  • Ability to manually calculate payroll when required.
  • Experience using Sage 50cloud Payroll or BrightPay is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and deadlines.
  • Proactive, positive attitude and a flexible approach.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
