Senior Office Manager role, South Birmingham, B17, Monday–Friday, Term Time, to commence ASAP

Your new company
A primary school in South Birmingham, B17 is looking to appoint an experienced Office Manager to join their team ASAP. The cover is Monday to Friday 8AM – 4PM, term time. This is a long-term ongoing role and there is the opportunity for a permanent placement for the right individual.

Your new role

  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to support the strategic vision and leadership of the school.
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of the reception office.
  • Ensure the provision of effective administrative and clerical support to the school.
  • Undertake the administrative duties associated with all aspects of supporting the pupil’s needs as required.
  • Be the focal point of the school for staff, parents, children and visitors, ensuring a friendly, welcoming and efficient environment, and to act as a first point of contact within the school to filter enquiries appropriately and efficiently, including all visitor checks and health and safety processes in place to monitor entry in and out of the building
  • Manage effective maintenance of manual and computerised record/information systems for pupils
  • Provide personal, administrative and organisational support, such as ensuring school letters (undertaking work processing and IT-based tasks) are issued in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance of pupil profiles (including admissions and discharges), attendance and produce the pupil census.
  • Support whole school events such as parents' evenings and events.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed you will:

• School office experience is essential
• Have an excellent standard of literacy and numeracy
• Have management or senior administrative experience within a busy office
• Have a high level of IT skills and experience working with MS Office and MIS systems
• Be highly organised and have excellent attention to detail
• Be always discrete and professional, as you will be dealing with highly sensitive information

We will require recent satisfactory references carrying out this role. You will also have a current enhanced DBS in order to start the placement immediately.
