Sandwell Council is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist in the Moving and Handling team £31.79ph.

Sandwell Adult Social Care is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our newly established Moving and Handling Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team where the value of Occupational Therapy is increasingly recognised and embedded across services.

Your new role

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:
  • Assess and recommend specialist equipment and adaptations to meet complex needs.
  • Apply up-to-date moving and handling techniques to reduce carer handling safely.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals, caregivers, and professionals to promote independence.

What you'll need to succeed

We welcome applications from experienced Occupational Therapists with a passion for moving and handling. You will need:
  • A degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in conducting proportionate assessments and recommending appropriate equipment/adaptations.
  • Strong understanding of health and social care legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A valid driving licence and the ability to travel across the Borough (reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with disabilities).
