The Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of bespoke products and components. You’ll play a key role in new product innovation, continuous improvement, and mentoring junior engineers, while working closely with manufacturing and production teams to bring concepts to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design of components and assemblies using 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Manage design projects from concept through to production, ensuring quality, cost, and timelines are met.
- Perform engineering calculations and stress analysis to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Conduct design reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
About You:
- A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally within manufacturing or automotive sectors.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks experience preferred).
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (particularly fabrication and welding), and trailer systems.
- An innovative mindset with a passion for practical problem-solving and design excellence.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
