Your new role

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take a leading role in the delivery of mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion. You’ll be responsible for producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports, while ensuring work meets quality and programme expectations.
You’ll coordinate closely with electrical and multidisciplinary colleagues, represent the consultancy in client and contractor meetings, provide guidance to junior engineers, and support project strategy. The role also involves integrating low‑carbon and renewable solutions, carrying out site inspections, and contributing to the continuous improvement of technical standards across the team.

What you'll need to succeed

A degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • A strong background in mechanical design within the building services sector
  • Proficiency in Revit, Amtech, Relux/Dialux and core Microsoft applications
  • Strong knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance
  • Experience delivering low‑carbon, renewable and energy‑efficient mechanical systems
  • Awareness of BREEAM and sustainable design principles
  • Understanding of electrical interfaces for effective multidisciplinary coordination
  • Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE or IMechE) or active progression toward it
  • Strong communication skills with confidence engaging clients and project partners
