A public sector organisation based in the North Kent area is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor from a public sector background with additional experience of managing/coaching/mentoring. Hybrid work 2 days working in the office and 3 from home.
Your new role
- You will be delivering an effective and efficient Internal Audit service, working in accordance with PSIAS.
- You will have responsibility for delivering a personal audit plan each year, including some more complex audits, delivering added value consultancy, high-profile strategic projects and thematic reviews.
- You will also have responsibility for mentoring and coaching more junior members of the team, acting as the first stage of review for their work, as well as reporting on the follow-up of agreed recommendations resulting from completed audits.
- You will also be required to deputise for the Principal Auditor/Audit Manager in their absence and contribute to formulation and delivery of the objectives and wider goals of the audit function.
What you'll need to succeed
- You will ideally hold CIA or PIIA or an equivalent Audit-related qualification and have several years' experience working in a public sector Internal Audit team, with a good understanding of PSIAS.
- You will have recent proven risk-based Internal Audit experience;
- Excellent communication & presentation skills;
- Experience of leading, motivating and developing staff;
- The ability to analyse complex data and draw detailed conclusions.
