Your new company
I am working to recruit a Senior GCP DevOps Engineer for a hyper-growth business in the UK as they look to expand globally. It’s a really unique opportunity working for an online, technology first organisation that are looking to challenge the leading names in ecommerce.
The role is offered fully remote but you must be within the UK and must not require any form of Visa Sponsorship to apply – and you must have Google Cloud Platform experience.
Your new role
This company operates like a start-up but with a product that’s been in Development for 10+ years. You will understand there is some legacy/maintenance to manage and will be primarily pointed at architecting, implementing, and optimising software delivery pipelines to enhcnace the reliability, performance, and scalability of these systems.
What you'll need to succeed
Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise
• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong Linux skills, especially Rocky Linux, and infrastructure automation using Ansible.
Containerisation & CI/CD
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containerisation, and deployment via CI/CD pipelines using Helm charts, ArgoCD, and GitOps practices.
Monitoring, Security & Networking
• Experience designing advanced monitoring and alerting systems.
• Solid grasp of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, etc.) and information security risk assessment in cloud environments.
Software & Database Knowledge
• Familiarity with Nginx, PHP, MySQL, and NoSQL technologies like RabbitMQ, SOLR, Couchbase.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of driving DevOps culture, mentoring, and continuous improvement in Agile environments.
