Senior Fire Engineer to be part of a growing team
Your New Company:
An established and forward ‑ thinking building safety consultancy is seeking a skilled Senior Fire Engineer to join its growing fire engineering division. The organisation delivers high ‑ quality fire safety services across complex residential and commercial portfolios, working closely with internal specialists and external stakeholders to ensure best ‑ in ‑ class safety outcomes.
Your New Role:
As Senior Fire Engineer, you will play a key role in leading technical delivery, supervising junior engineers, and maintaining high reporting standards across multiple fire engineering workstreams. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing team output and providing constructive feedback.
- Overseeing training plans and supporting the development of junior team members.
- Delivering stakeholder feedback from audit processes to drive improvements.
- Managing your own CPD and ensuring it is recorded and up to date.
- Delivering and contributing to a range of fire engineering projects, such as:
- FRAEW reports in line with PAS 9980
- Fire Statements
- Fire Strategies
- Remediation works
- Peer reviews
- Attending client and third ‑ party meetings to present methodologies and rationales.
- Reviewing, approving, and signing off FRAEW reports and issuing EWS1 forms (subject to meeting competency requirements).
You will work closely with senior engineers, chartered professionals, surveyors, building safety managers, and internal reporting teams.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
You will bring a combination of technical competence, communication skills, and leadership qualities. Essential and desirable attributes include:
- Experience with ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991.
- Ability to produce Fire Strategies and Fire Statements.
- Level 4 fire safety (working towards Level 5) or equivalent fire engineering qualifications.
- Membership or progression toward relevant bodies such as IFE, IFSM, CABE, SFPE, or EngTech.
- Strong understanding of PAS 9980 methodology.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A professional approach aligned with company values, health & safety requirements, and respectful team conduct.
