You will be joining a well‑established, Nottingham‑based construction consultancy with a national presence, founded in the early 1960s and recognised for its expertise in Project Management, Cost Consultancy, MEP Engineering and Sustainability.The business maintains a strong culture of Director involvement across all projects, ensuring accountability and consistent, high‑quality delivery. This has driven an impressive repeat business rate of around 85%.
As part of a wider group following a recent strategic partnership, the consultancy continues to strengthen its service offering across Project Monitoring and Building Surveying, supporting long‑term growth.
The company operates a highly flexible, remote‑first model, with engineers attending the Nottingham office no more than once per week, reinforcing a culture based on trust and performance.
Your new role
As an Intermediate to Senior / Associate Electrical Design Engineer, you will take a leading role in delivering electrical building services designs across a varied national portfolio.You will have ownership of projects from concept through to completion, while contributing to client relationships and supporting the development of junior engineers.
Projects span large‑scale leisure and destination developments, alongside commercial, mixed‑use and public‑sector schemes — typically long‑term, repeat‑client work offering both continuity and technical depth.
Lead electrical design projects from concept to completion- Manage project deliverables, timelines and quality
- Act as a key point of contact for clients
- Provide technical leadership across schemes
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Contribute to client development and repeat business
- Maintain and improve design standards
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a consultancy environment- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design
- Ability to lead projects and work autonomously
- Confident communication and client‑facing ability
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Working towards or achieved Chartered status (CIBSE / IET)
- Experience managing project delivery
