Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Huntingdon. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of electrical systems for various building service projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the electrical design process for building service projects from concept to completion.
  • Develop detailed electrical designs, including schematics, layouts, and specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary information for design purposes.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) licence or equivalent certificate is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in electrical design within the building services sector.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
