Senior EHCP Casework Officer, Area Manager, Remote Working, £350-£400 per day, Interim

Are you an experienced SEND professional with a passion for quality, compliance, and leadership? One of my public sector clients is seeking a dedicated Senior EHCP Casework Officer to join their EHCP Assessment Team on a fully remote basis. Reporting to the EHCP Lead Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the statutory Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process is delivered efficiently, effectively, and with children and families at its heart. If you’re ready to take on a leadership role in a vital area of SEND provision, we’d love to hear from you.

This role is paying between £350-£400 per day (inside IR35) and the successful candidate will be home-based.

The key responsibilities of this role are:
  • Leading and line-managing a team of EHCP Assessment Officers.
  • Conducting regular 1:1 supervision and casework management meetings.
  • Overseeing assessment requests and making informed decisions.
  • Quality-assuring draft EHCPs to ensure compliance with relevant standards and statutory requirements.
  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality, timely EHCPs that reflect the needs and aspirations of children and young people.
  • Representing my client in mediation and tribunal processes where required.
  • Driving continuous improvement and contributing to service development.

In order to be successful in this role:
  • Significant experience in SEND casework and a deep understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to handle complex conversations and complaints.
  • Experience in quality assurance, decision-making panels, and multi-agency working.
  • A commitment to putting children, young people, and families at the centre of everything you do.
