A long-established civil engineering company is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects. With a strong foundation in family values and a reputation for quality and sustainability, the company specialises in complex works including roads, bridges, utilities, flood prevention, marine and wind energy developments.

Your new role

This site-based role involves working within multidisciplinary teams to ensure environmental compliance, risk management, and performance improvement throughout project lifecycles. You'll contribute to planning, monitoring, regulatory liaison, and reporting to help deliver infrastructure that meets high environmental standards.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Lead environmental compliance and risk mitigation on active construction sites
  • Monitor water quality, noise, vibration, and ecological impacts
  • Implement silt prevention and hydrology best practices
  • Liaise with regulators and contribute to ISO 14001 EMS reporting
  • Promote high environmental standards and sustainability across teams

What you'll need to succeed

  • A valid CSCS card is appropriate for seniority level.
  • Background in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience in large-scale civil engineering (especially road construction)
  • Familiarity with hydrology, water quality monitoring, and ecological assessments
  • Membership in a recognised environmental body (e.g., IEMA, SocEnv, CIWEM, CIEEM)
  • Strong communication, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Passionate about environmental protection and sustainability
