They are seeking a collaborative and motivated Ecologist to join their expanding team in the North of England. In this role you will be working on a wide variety of high-profile and purpose-driven projects across the UK, with the autonomy and flexibility to complete your best work – whether from home, on-site, or alongside colleagues.

Your new role

The main responsibilities of this role will include:

• Leading a diverse range of habitat and protected species surveys
• Producing high-quality reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and management plans
• Providing planning, mitigation, and licencing advice to clients
• Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to team development
• Working with purpose-led clients across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and development
• Driving innovation in biodiversity net gain, nature-based solutions, and ecological strategy

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in ecological consultancy
• Strong field skills, with expertise in protected species identification and mitigation
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Good communication skills, both in-house and with clients.
• Experience preparing fee proposals.
• Experience undertaking risk assessments.
• Experience managing simple projects.
• Be able to manage and analyse data.
• Experience using GIS Mapping.
