Your new company

Our client is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join a growing ecological consultancy that provides services across a diverse range of projects.

Their work ranges across Scotland to a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from government bodies and nationwide construction companies, to small-scale projects for private homeowners. Helping to deliver high-quality ecological surveys, assessments, and consultancy.


Your new role

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conduct ecological surveys and assessments, ensuring timely and compliant project delivery
  • Lead fieldwork activities including habitat assessments, species surveys, and ecological monitoring
  • Provide expert ecological advice to clients and project teams, ensuring adherence to legislation and best practices
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports, management plans, and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)
  • Liaise professionally with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
  • Mentor junior staff, offering training and supervision
  • Contribute to business development through proposals, meetings, and networking
  • Integrate emerging ecological trends and technologies into project work
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation per company standards
  • Demonstrate flexibility during peak survey seasons, including travel and overnight stays
  • Assist in fee proposal preparation and project quality assurance
  • Manage projects to meet deliverables and deadlines

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy
  • Strong knowledge of UK ecological legislation and best practice
  • Skilled in data analysis, GIS, and technical report writing
  • Associate or full membership (or eligibility) of CIEEM
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Relevant degree (e.g., zoology, ecology, environmental management) or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to obtain protected species licences
  • Physical fitness for outdoor fieldwork in varied conditions
