Your new role
As a Senior Buyer, you’ll take ownership of strategic procurement activities, supporting value delivery through cost reduction, supply chain resilience, risk mitigation, and ESG initiatives. You’ll manage end-to-end procurement processes for specific categories, lead commercial analysis, negotiate contracts, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. This is a dynamic role where you’ll influence strategies to improve Total Cost of Ownership, quality, service levels, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading category management using a structured 5-step process.
  • Driving cost savings and cash flow improvements.
  • Conducting detailed commercial analysis and RFP bid evaluations.
  • Negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing senior managers.
  • Managing projects and delivering objectives within agreed timelines.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree-level education in a relevant field (Supply Chain, STEM) – advantageous but not essential
  • CIPS / MCIPS would be advantageous.
  • Experienced Buyer, Senior Buyer, Purchasing, Category Management or in a Commercial role, ideally within logistics or retail.
  • Strong financial awareness and analytical skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
