Exciting Senior Associate (Contentious Construction) job in Bristol or Exeter with this leading national firm

Your new firm
Our client is a highly regarded national law firm with a strong reputation across the UK and an expanding presence in the Southwest. Known for its collaborative culture and commitment to excellence, the firm works with a diverse client base, including household names and listed companies. As part of their strategic growth plan for the Construction and Infrastructure team, they are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join their thriving Bristol or Exeter office.

Your new role
You will be joining a busy and well-respected Construction and Infrastructure team, advising on a wide range of contentious construction matters. Your work will involve handling disputes through litigation, adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and other forms of ADR. Typical matters include payment disputes, delays, defects, professional negligence, and contract management issues. You will also provide strategic advice on dispute avoidance and mitigation.
The team advises on projects across multiple sectors, including commercial development, utilities, renewable energy, residential, and facilities management. You will work closely with colleagues in Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial, and Planning to deliver a seamless service to clients.

What you’ll need to succeed
You will be an experienced construction lawyer with a strong background in contentious matters at a leading practice. A background in handling disputes and familiarity with standard industry contracts would be beneficial. Strong technical ability, commercial awareness, and the capacity to develop client relationships are important. Experience in mentoring colleagues and supporting business development would be advantageous.

What you’ll get in return
You will join a forward-thinking firm that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. The firm offers a supportive culture, excellent career development opportunities, and access to high-quality, complex work for prestigious clients. Flexible and hybrid working options are available, making this an ideal role for lawyers based in the Southwest or those looking to relocate.
