*** Senior Architectural Technologist - Tier 1 Practice - Belfast Studio - £Negotiable + Package ***
Your new company
Our client is a long‑established, award‑winning architectural practice with a strong reputation across the UK and Ireland. Operating from their Belfast studio, they deliver significant public and private‑sector projects across commercial, healthcare, education, workplace, residential and large‑scale civic environments. Known for their collaborative culture, technical rigour and forward‑thinking approach to digital design, the practice continues to strengthen its team as project demands grow. With recent activity around technologist recruitment, including junior and senior‑level requirements, the Belfast studio is now seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to join their expanding technical team.
Your new role
This newly created opportunity offers an experienced Architectural Technologist the chance to play a central role across a varied and technically demanding project portfolio. You will work closely with Project Architects, Associate Directors and the wider design team, contributing to detailed design development, coordinating information with consultants and ensuring robust technical delivery across all work stages. As the studio continues to secure complex design‑and‑build and technically intensive schemes, this senior position offers autonomy, progression and the ability to shape best‑practice standards within a respected Belfast practice.
You will take responsibility for producing and coordinating high‑quality technical information, including detailed drawings, specifications, tender packages and construction‑stage documents. You will engage directly with contractors, fabricators and external consultants, helping to resolve design queries, support site delivery and maintain alignment with programme and procurement milestones. You will contribute to planning and building control submissions, participate in design and technical reviews and ensure that evolving design intent is successfully translated into buildable, compliant solutions. Given the practice’s design‑and‑build aligned workload, you will also support early‑stage technical strategy, risk identification and buildability assessments.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Architectural Technologist with a strong technical foundation and several years of industry experience, ideally within a design‑led architectural practice. You must be confident producing comprehensive construction information, managing your own workload, and coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is highly advantageous, along with a strong understanding of UK and NI building regulations, procurement processes and the demands of contractor‑facing coordination. You will be detail‑oriented, proactive, confident in client/contractor communication and able to contribute positively to a fast‑paced, collaborative studio environment.
What you'll get in return
This is an exciting opportunity to join a practice with an established reputation, deep technical expertise and a supportive culture that encourages professional development. You will work on high‑profile projects, collaborate with talented colleagues and gain exposure to a wide range of sectors. The role offers clear scope for growth, meaningful technical leadership opportunities and the chance to influence project outcomes within a practice that values quality, innovation and long‑term team development.
