Due to continued expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant to join their finance team based in Northern Ireland.


Your new role

As Senior Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role within a busy finance function, supporting both finance and commercial operations. This is a varied, hands-on position offering exposure to multiple areas of finance and the opportunity to work closely with senior management.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing sales ledger activities, including credit control, cash allocation, customer receipts, direct debit processing, EDI management and customer statement preparation.
  • Supporting stock and inventory-related accounting processes, including purchase order administration, supplier order tracking, shipping documentation and intercompany transactions.
  • Maintaining the non-stock purchase ledger, including invoice processing, coding, approval workflows, supplier account management and payment runs.
  • Producing daily, weekly and monthly financial and operational reports, including sales analysis, stock reporting, debtor reporting and reconciliations.
  • Supporting cash flow management through financing administration, payment processing and regular declarations.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end activities, including management accounts preparation and statutory reporting support.
  • Ensuring robust financial controls and compliance procedures are maintained.
  • Building strong working relationships across finance, commercial, operations and external stakeholder teams.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a finance or accounts environment.
  • Previous experience operating at a senior accounts assistant or similar level.
  • Strong working knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Part-qualified accounting status or relevant accounting qualification (desirable).
