Location: Alton (Fully office-based) ⏳ Type: Temporary – approx. 2 months Hours: Part‑time, 30 hours per week (5 days x 6 hours a day) Start: As soon as possible,
Role Overview
This role provides essential support to the Finance Department during a busy period with reduced staffing. The Senior Accounts Assistant will handle day‑to‑day bookkeeping and administrative duties, with a strong focus on the Purchase Ledger, VAT/Sales Ledger support, credit card postings, and ensuring smooth financial operations. Accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practice are key.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage daily Purchase Ledger tasks, ensuring timely completion.
- Collaborate with Procurement on order processing and associated accounting.
- Oversee and provide backup for monthly credit card statement postings.
- Support a VAT and Sales Ledger project alongside the Financial Accountant, using Sage 200.
- Handle daily administration and cash management activities.
- Carry out additional ad‑hoc finance tasks as needed.

- Maintain and develop professional knowledge as required.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties within the department.
