Your new role
A rapidly expanding and forward‑thinking organisation is seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join its senior management team. This is a high‑impact leadership role within a diverse, multi‑entity group that has grown significantly through both organic expansion and acquisitions.

You will act as a key strategic advisor to the senior leadership team, providing expert financial guidance, driving commercial performance, and shaping the future financial direction of the organisation. This role involves leading the entire finance function, delivering robust financial controls, enhancing reporting standards, developing a best‑in‑class financial IT strategy, and implementing forward‑looking planning tools to support continued growth.

You will work closely with other business areas to deliver improvements, strengthen accountability, drive revenue and profit growth, and ensure consistent financial reporting across all departments. This role offers broad exposure across multiple business sectors and provides exceptional scope to influence strategic decision‑making.

What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this position, you will bring:
  • A degree in a relevant business discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a comparable senior finance role
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across group locations
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience advising senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to produce integrated P&L, balance sheet and cashflow forecasts
  • A track record of identifying cost savings, driving efficiencies, and implementing automation
  • Strong ability to collaborate and deliver continuous improvement with operational teams
  • Excellent communication skills and alignment with strong organisational values
Desired experience includes: Managing organisational growth and acquisitions, due diligence, strengthening banking relationships (cashflow, gearing ratios, covenant compliance), implementing new financial systems, strong knowledge of FRS 101/102, commercial negotiation with advisers, and experience optimising financial processes and reporting structures.

What you'll get in return
  • A senior strategic role with influence across a growing, multi‑entity organisation
  • The opportunity to modernise and lead a full finance function
  • A varied and commercially focused role with genuine autonomy
  • Close collaboration with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams
  • Strong opportunities for progression as the group continues to expand
  • A supportive, forward‑thinking environment that values innovation and improvement
