Teaching Assistant training course - gain invaluable experience

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED WORKING AS A SPECIAL NEEDS LEARNING SUPPORT IN A CLASSROOM SETTING?

Hays Education understands that people with a passion and experience of supporting children or adults with special needs or complex care, can sometimes find it difficult to break into a career in Education, due to minimal or no recent/previous experience in a classroom setting.

Your background and experience, as an example, may come from:
  • Social/care work
  • Health care professional
  • Extended career break from teaching or support roles and would love to return!
  • Personal life experiences – direct care for a family member or friend

Does this sound like you?

Hays Education have developed a training programme and have partnered with schools across the North West, who are happy to support completion of the course; that will not only provide you with a wealth of knowledge about SEND education and safeguarding, but also incorporates first-hand PAID experience in the classroom.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated candidates with various backgrounds, who are committed to developing their knowledge and skills and willing to step out of their comfort zone and go the extra mile to pursue a career in Education.

TYPES OF PROVISION WE CAN GIVE YOU ACCESS TO:
  • Primary and Secondary School - with a high percentage of pupils with special needs and disabilities
  • SEMH – (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Primary and Secondary Schools
  • Generic Learning Difficulties in Primary and Secondary Schools
  • PRU – Pupil referral units
  • Specific Provision – HI (Hearing impairment), VI (Visual Impairment), ASC (Autism), PMLD (Profound and multiple Learning Disabilities), SLD/PD (Significant learning difficulties/Physical disabilities)

For the right person, working in special needs is highly rewarding and fulfilling. There are so many benefits!

BENEFITS OF WORKING IN A SPECIAL NEEDS ROLE:
  • The opportunity to be creative with your support - as not restricted to full curriculum
  • Working in schools with some of the most creative and advanced learning facilities
  • Access to a wide range of CPD relating to various SEND interventions, thus further enhancing your experience
  • Developing your experience and getting support working with other professionals such as SaLT and OT, and other health services
  • Constantly changing – Unpredictable and Exciting!

If you would like to make a difference and make an impact on young people’s lives within education - please send me your CV or a cover letter via email to apply.
