Hays Education is proud to be partnering with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Sheffield to recruit a passionate and experienced SENDCo. This is a unique opportunity to lead SEND provision in a school that truly values every learner.
Whether you're an established SENDCo or an aspiring leader working towards accreditation, this part-time role offers the chance to shape lives, drive progress, and be part of a supportive leadership team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Champion SEND students by tracking progress and implementing effective interventions.
- Design and deliver tailored curriculum pathways for learners with moderate learning difficulties.
- Work closely with senior leaders to ensure safe, inclusive learning environments – both on and off-site.
- Lead provision mapping, EHCP applications, reviews, and statutory paperwork.
- Maintain the SEND register and share professional reports with staff.
- Deliver targeted interventions and connect families with external support.
- Drive staff development through CPD and contribute to whole-school SEND strategy.
- Coordinate Exam Access Arrangements and manage SEND data systems.
- Support smooth transitions for incoming SEND students.
- Be a key member of the Safeguarding Team, supporting families and attending training.
- Build student profiles with practical strategies for classroom support.
- Attend open evenings and parent meetings to offer expert SEND guidance.
- Lead parent support groups and collaborate across the trust’s SEND network.
What We’re Looking For:
- QTS and SENDCo accreditation (or working towards it).
- Proven experience in SEND leadership within a secondary setting.
- Deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory duties.
- Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for inclusive education.
- CPT3A qualification is a bonus!
