SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Birmingham Permanent | September 2026 Start

We are currently working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Birmingham to appoint a passionate and experienced SENDCo to join them on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a school that places inclusion and student outcomes at the heart of everything it does.

The Role
As SENDCo, you will lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the development and delivery of the school’s SEND strategy
  • Ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory duties
  • Identifying, assessing and monitoring pupils with additional needs
  • Coordinating interventions and tracking pupil progress
  • Working closely with SLT, teaching staff, parents and external agencies
  • Leading, supporting and developing SEND staff and delivering CPD
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
  • Hold QTS
  • Have (or be working towards) the SENDCo qualification
  • Have experience leading or supporting SEND provision in a school setting
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of inclusive practice and SEND frameworks
  • Have a proven track record of improving outcomes for SEND pupils
  • Be an effective leader, communicator and team player
