Full-time | Long-term, Temporary (with the potential for permanent placement) | Start ASAP

Your New Job
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, and complex communication needs. You’ll work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to deliver tailored interventions, promote independence, and create a nurturing learning environment. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Your New Company
You’ll be joining a well-established special school in Manchester that caters to children aged 4–11 with a wide spectrum of SEND. The school is part of a respected multi-academy trust and is known for its inclusive ethos, therapeutic curriculum, and commitment to “creating meaningful futures” for every pupil. With a strong emphasis on personalised learning pathways, the school provides a supportive and innovative environment for both staff and students. Facilities are modern and purpose-built, including sensory rooms, outdoor learning spaces, and specialist therapy areas.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a school setting
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Hays)
What You'll Get in Return
  • Competitive daily rate paid weekly
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated Hays Education consultant
  • Access to professional development and training opportunities
  • Opportunity to work in a forward-thinking, inclusive school environment
  • Potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate
What to Do Now
If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEND and want to be part of a dynamic and caring school community, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today through Hays Education or contact your local consultant to discuss the role in more detail.
