Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Hays Education is recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established primary special school in South Manchester. This rewarding role involves working with pupils aged 4–11 who have a range of complex needs including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support.
- Assist with personal care and sensory integration.
- Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables.
- Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Support pupils in engaging activities including swimming, outdoor learning, and creative arts.

What You'll Need to Succeed
- Experience working with children with SEND (school-based experience preferred).
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or similar communication strategies (desirable).
- Willingness to support pupils with personal care and physical needs.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Hays.
