Your new school

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Birmingham is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist hub provision. The school has a strong reputation for supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs and offers a collaborative, well‑structured environment where staff work closely to ensure every child can thrive.

Your new role

This is a full‑time role, Monday to Friday, working within the school’s SEND hub until the end of the academic year. You will be supporting a small group of approximately 5–8 pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD and social communication difficulties. The hub supports children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

You will work alongside a class teacher and another experienced TA to deliver high‑quality support and create a calm, nurturing learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting pupils through small‑group activities and targeted interventions
  • Assisting with behaviour regulation and emotional support
  • Helping to maintain a structured, engaging classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with the teacher and wider SEND team
  • Providing feedback and observations to support pupil progress

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism or ADHD
  • A patient, resilient and positive approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships
  • A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

What you'll get in return

  • A long‑term, full‑time role within a well‑resourced SEND hub
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Support from an experienced teaching and SEND leadership team
  • Competitive pay and access to ongoing professional development
