SEND Teaching Assistant - Rugby

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long‑term with potential to become permanent, plus supply opportunities

Availability: Full‑time and part‑time roles available


About The Role

A well‑established specialist SEND school in Rugby is looking for caring, enthusiastic, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. This setting supports children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs, and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with diverse SEND needs
  • Assist with personalised learning plans and adapted curriculum activities
  • Support communication, sensory regulation, and emotional wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school, care, youth work, or similar)
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Willingness to undertake training and develop specialist skills
