SEND Teacher Job – Secondary Special School – North Manchester

Your New Job
Are you an experienced SEND Teacher with a passion for supporting young people with complex needs? A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a committed and skilled educator to join a specialist secondary setting in North Manchester. This full-time role is to start as soon as possible and will run on a temporary basis initially, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum to students aged 11–19 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Lessons are highly differentiated and supported by a strong team of teaching assistants and therapists. You’ll be expected to plan creatively, assess progress effectively, and foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching in a secondary SEND setting
  • Strong understanding of autism, MLD, SEMH and differentiated teaching strategies
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Hays)
