SEND Teaching Assistant | Burnley | Starting after October half-term | Temporary long-term
A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Burnley is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team after the October half-term. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
As a SEND TA, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to provide tailored support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will assist with the delivery of personalised learning plans, provide 1:1 and small group interventions, and help students access the curriculum effectively. The role may also involve supporting students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and personal care where necessary.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people with SEND, particularly within a secondary school setting. You should be patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or SEND-specific training are desirable but not essential.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who need additional support to succeed. The school offers a collaborative working environment and is committed to staff development and training.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your education career and help shape the future of young people in Burnley, we’d love to hear from you. Interviews will be held shortly after the half-term break.
